Day 01: Paro – Thimphu (55kms/1.5hour)
Elevation at Paro: 2,200 meters.
Experience the breathtaking views of the high Himalayan peaks as you fly into Paro valley (2,300 meters), a fitting desciption to this magical land. After visa formalities at the Paro airport, meet your personal guide and driver.
- On the way stop at Tachhog Lhakhang (the Iron Chain Bridge), a temple located across the famous iron chain bridge built over the meandering Pa Chhu (Paro River). Devour yourself to the invigorating ambience of the cool-sweeping breeze and bright colored prayer flags. The whole set up a feast to the eye.
- Five miles from Thimphu, on a lofty ridge, stands Simtokha Dzong the oldest fortress in the Kingdom.
- Upon arriving Thimphu (2,300 meters), check in your hotel and freshen up before visiting the exquisite massive structure of Thimphu Tashichoe Dzong- a master piece of Bhutanese architecture.
- Take a stroll in evening around Thimphu town hand in hand and absorb the magical atmosphere of the capital city. Stop at a warm ambient café and connect over a steaming coffee.

Day 2: Explore Thimphu
Buddha Dordenma: Capture the vibrant Buddha Dordema statue in the early morning sunrise. Apart from the serenity of the place the view of the Thimphu city from this mountain is gorgeous.
Wangditse Hike (1.5 hours hike): Venture through the flavors and scents of thick pine forest along the side of Thimphu valley leading to the glorious Wangditse temple. It is one and half hour – easy hike crossing local apple farms and houses. The trail further takes into trees of oak, pine, and rhododendron which accompany you throughout the hike while occasionally opening to the view of the Buddha Dordenma statue, Tashichoe Dzong and Thimphu valley.
Rest of the day free to explore Thimphu on your own or relax at your hotel.

Day 03: Thimphu- Phobjikha (130kms/6hours)
- Journey to Phobjikha, on the way break at Dochu La- Pass at 3,100 meters above the sea level. Sip a cup hot coffee at the Dochu La cafeteria while enjoying the mesmerizing panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges. If skies are clear, the high Himalayan peaks towards the north east will be revealed in all their glory. Take in the 108 stupas beautifully adorned on the pass with the blue sky back drop.
- On arriving Phobjikha valley pay your respect and get blessed from Gangtey monastery. Admire the craft and sculptors of the monastery.
- Gangtey Nature Trail Hike. The most beautiful and shortest of the existing nature trails in Bhutan. The trail hike starts from the Mani (like Chorten) stone wall to the north of the Gangtey Gonpa and ends in Khewa Lhakhang. The hike takes about 1hr 30minutes through the pine forest and small bamboo plants. You can see the Phobjikha valley so beautifully from this hike. It is one of the best hike places for the Nature lovers. During the winter months, we can see the endangered species of birds – Black Neck Cranes
- Enjoy the tranquil environment scenery of Phobjikha valley while soaking yourself in traditional hot stone bath.

Day 04: Phobjikha- Punakha (80kms/3hours)
Driving from Phobjikha to Punakha valley, you will observe the gradual change in vegetation from alpine to sub-tropical to pine forest.
- Chimi Lhakhang: Walk along the path through the agricultural field of rice and mustard, leading to a hillock where the temple of the Divine Mad monk is located. Get blessed and wish for a happy and healthy child. Start from the road and pass through Sopsokha village, a typical example of clustered settlement and witness unusual paintings of phallus on walls of the houses. The phallus paintings are traditionally believed to ward off evil influences and bad-mouth/gossips of others that bring bad luck.
Stop for a picnic lunch by the river of Punakha.
- Punakha Dzong is just as striking inside as outside and it is arguably the most beautiful Dzong in Bhutan. Located magnificently between Pho Chhu (Male River) and Mo Chhu (Female River) confluence, the intricate carving and amazing architecture of the Dzong is a great source of inspiration. This famous structure built in the 1637 has lot to tell about the historical background and various Tibetan invasion won from this strategically located Dzong. It also houses the kingdom’s most sacred relic the “Rangjung Karsa-pani”.
- If you like some adventure you can try a scenic white water rafting under the guidance of trained rafters.

Day 05: Punakha- Paro (130kms/5hours)
Travel from Punakha to Paro. Elevation at Paro is 2,200 meters.
Paro is a beautiful valley located in Western Bhutan with an area of 2800 square kilometers. Breathtaking Lhakhangs and monasteries are perched on mountain hills. Two sacred rivers with its respective source at Jumolhari and Chumo Phug Mountains, makes their way through Paro valley enhancing its beauty and grandeur
- Visit the ancient Kichu Lhakhang which dates back to the 7th century.
- Visit Namgay Artisinal Brewery in authentic Bhutanese set up and try different flavor of local beer.
- Take a stroll through Paro town, a street of typical Bhutanese traditional buildings.

Day 06: Paro Taktsang (4-6hours)
We have saved the best for the last. Get your energy up at breakfast this morning for a hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Venture through the pristine surrounding of the monastery resting on a cliff.
- Hike up to Tiger’s Nest – one of Bhutan’s most revered pilgrim sites. Be rewarded to the overwhelming sight of the monastery perched on a cliff at 3,120 meters above the sea level and 900 meters above Paro valley.
Tiger’s Nest or Taktsang acquires its name from the legend of its foundation, when in the 8th Century Guru Rinpoche, widely revered as the second Buddha, arrived from Tibet flying across the mountains on the back of a tigress and meditated here for three months. He blessed and preached tantric Buddhism in Bhutan.
