The Druk Path Trek is a 4-day trek from Dopshari (Ta Dzong), Paro to Thimphu, connecting the arid Paro Valley to the lush forests above Thimphu and attracting around 1,200 trekkers annually. Known for its mountain monasteries, alpine landscapes, and convenient starting point, the trek is best undertaken from late February to May and September to December, though snow and afternoon showers can occur. Most trekkers complete it in six days, while fitter hikers can finish in five, and a shorter 4-day alternative covers key points like Jela Dzong, Jimilang Tsho, and Phajoding Monastery. Starting at 2,500m, the trek ascends to campsites at Jela Dzong (3,500m), Jangchulakha (3,750m), and Simkotra Tsho (4,100m), with scenic views of Jomolhari, Jichu Drakye, and pristine lakes. The trek is of medium difficulty, with a highest altitude of 4,235m, an average walking distance of 11 km per day, and average walking time of 5 hours. The tour also includes visits to Tiger’s Nest Monastery at 10,000 feet and other cultural sites, blending adventure, nature, and Bhutanese heritage.
